God's Amazing Grace July 30th Devotional

Read:

Galatians 5:1

1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. 2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Grace will give you the power to do what you cannot do in your own strength. It is far more than what we have been taught from the pulpit. Some tell us that grace will cover you no matter what you do. The other thing taught from the pulpit is that grace is good and it is unmerited favor, but basically you have to obey a bunch of rules to make it to heaven after the initial coming to Jesus through repentance. A young man asked a preacher one time, "After I do all of these things you want me to do, is there anything else?" If we live for Christ to stay out of hell then that is the wrong reason to live for Him. If we haven't repented of our sins, then we will be convicted by the Holy Spirit and given the opportunity to receive Him. The bible makes it clear that all will have the opportunity at some time or another to receive Him. This would be very unfair for someone in the world to stand in judgment and them not ever having the opportunity by God's grace to receive Him. Grace doesn't give us a liscense to sin but to serve God. Grace is the knowledge of who God really is within us. We have Christ living and abiding within us as believers. If we don't tap into that revelation even as a christian, we will begin to look to ourselves to be right, and this is falling from grace. Falling from grace doesn't mean that your lost and going straight to hell, it means that you are looking to your works to make you right. Don't get religious on me now! How many of us look at our good deeds at times in our christian walk to make us right apart from the grace that needs to flow from within us? We start to feel miserable don't we. The bible say's to walk in that which we have received. When we come unto Jesus by that initial invitation through repentance, we need to keep coming unto Jesus everyday through our devotion, prayer, and worship. Grace teaches our heart to have a Godly fear and lead us on to great things of God. You may ask, “how do I understand and gain a knowledge of who God really is?” It’s by getting into the word of God, entering into his presence daily, and by prayer and devotion on a consistent basis that strengthens your relationship with the Holy Spirit. You will see things in a different light of who you are in Christ.
Grace is far more than what we have been taught. It is the power and strength that we draw from, giving us the ability to rise above the clouds of sin, and use our hands from the power of the recreated heart.

prayer:
Lord we pray that you will forgive us by your blood for looking to things to make us right. We do the right things because we have faith in you. We have good works Lord because we trust in you grace to make us like you. We ask that you would lead us by your grace in a mighty way today. Amen.
